UNDERSTANDING HOMEOPATHY

What is
homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a holistic approach to health that considers the whole person — physical, emotional, and mental — rather than focusing on a single symptom in isolation.

THE BASICS

A holistic approach
to your whole health

Homeopathy is based on the principle of 'Like Healing Like' — known as the Law of Similars. A substance that may produce certain symptoms in a healthy person is used, in a highly diluted form, to gently support a person whose system is expressing similar patterns of imbalance.

A homeopath's aim is to find the least intrusive way to support your system — working with it, not against it. Rather than addressing a single symptom, a homeopath explores the full picture of how you are experiencing being out of balance.

"The highest ideal of cure is the rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of health."

— Samuel Hahnemann, founder of homeopathy

HOW REMEDIES ARE MADE

Made from the natural world

There are thousands of possible homeopathic remedies. Each is made through a careful process of dilution and energetic activation.

Plants

A wide range of plant-based substances form the foundation of many homeopathic remedies, drawn from flowers, roots, bark, and leaves.

Minerals

Mineral substances — including metals and salts — are used in homeopathy, prepared through the same process of serial dilution and succussion.

Other natural sources

Remedies may also be prepared from animal substances and other naturally occurring materials, each processed to release their energetic potential.

All remedies are prepared through a process of serial dilution and succussion — a series of dilutions and vigorous shaking. This process of potentisation is understood to release the energetic potential of the original substance. The resulting remedy carries an energetic imprint rather than a measurable chemical dose.

When the remedy you take is an accurate energetic reflection of the totality of your state of being — the simillimum — it acts to stimulate the body's own healing mechanism.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What happens in
a consultation?

Every consultation is different — because every person is different. Here is what you can generally expect.

1

Your fully story

Your first appointment is comprehensive — usually 60 to 90 minutes. Your homeopath will explore your physical symptoms, emotional wellbeing, and your personal and family health history. They are building a complete picture of you as a whole person.

2

Case analysis

After your appointment, your homeopath analyses everything you have shared to identify the remedy that best reflects the specific way your system is expressing imbalance. This is an individualised process — your remedy is chosen for you alone.

3

Your prescription

The aim is always to prescribe the minimum dose needed. A homeopath seeks the least intrusive way to support your system — not to suppress symptoms, but to support your system in finding its own way back to balance.

4

Follow-up

Follow-up appointments allow your homeopath to understand how your system has responded and adjust the approach accordingly. Homeopathy is a gentle, ongoing process — not a one-size solution.

THE INTENTIONAL GRACE DIFFERENCE

A little more than
classical homeopathy

The homeopaths in our network are all classically trained — and they also use the Intentional Grace system, which brings an additional, intuitive dimension to the consultation process.

Working with Intentional Grace means your homeopath is consciously attuned to the energetic field of the consultation — using a subtle form of muscle testing (applied kinesiology) to ask what may best support your system toward health. This sits alongside the classical case-taking process, not instead of it.

Our body's energy system functions with the aid of electrical impulses — these govern our physical, mental and emotional functions. In perfect health, all systems receive an unimpeded flow of energy. When someone's system is out of balance, this flow is interrupted. Using a very subtle form of muscle testing, your homeopath tunes into your energy system to detect these changes and identify remedies that resonate and may support your system toward health.

"The basic premise of all healing is that the body's innate wisdom knows what's wrong and that we as nature's helpers need only ask the appropriate questions."

— John Diamond, M.D.

This approach is based on the principles of Applied Kinesiology, developed by chiropractor George Goodheart. The name Intentional Grace reflects this extra dimension — consciously and energetically present throughout the whole consultation.
